Andrei Davidoff's wheel formed functional ware is inspired by a restrained notion of landscape. An affinity with both traditional Japanese ceramics, as well as an interest in Scandinavian design informs his pieces.
In his current three series of production ware, there are white porcelain pieces that feature oriental smoke-curl brushwork evocative of calligraphic paintings. Dark stoneware clay is fired with a white glaze giving a speckled effect and the last collection are minimalist matt black and white glazes on white porcelain. Each piece is robust enough for daily use and is unique in its visual and tactile qualities. See here for stockists |
